Puma has pretty recently launched a line of footwear in association with Virat Kohli called the One8 series. It carries the motto- Come out & play, which stands true to the Virat's persona.
The most popular product of the series is the BASKET CLASSIC ONE8 UNISEX SNEAKERS. It has a so called premium leather upperLace which helps with a good fit. The Golden stitch details at the forefoot inspired from the stiches on the cricket ballOne8 look like Virat couldn't have enough of cricket. It has the PUMA Cat logo on the tongue of the shoe and the PUMA logo at the lateral side. It has several places where the Signature brand name, "One8" shows up.
Personally, I like the simplistic yet detailed look of the shoe. Virat has done a good job coming up with the design and PUMA, of course has done a decent job executing it. To me, the white one looks better in terms of overall appeal than the black one and, did I say that it only comes in these two colors. I would have liked to see a red version of this shoe too. Tell me what you think. On an overall, the shoe is a good package.
Of what I have heard, the consumer section seems to be pretty divided on the product due to it's pricing, which is Rs.5999/- in India. The majority say that it is priced pretty high. I think it has a decent price considering that it is a celebrity signature model. If you think about other celebrity models, such as the Air Jordans, you will really understand what high price for shoe actually is. If you look at it that way, the Basket One8 sneaker is pretty inexpensive. I would say it is cheaper than it should be, considering the worldwide Fame of Virat. I would surely buy it, not for Virat, who I am personally not that big of a fan of, but just because it is a cool shoe.
